Is netmove an estate agent?
No, netmove is not an estate agent and we do not undertake the work of an estate agent as set out in the Estate Agents Act 1979.
Our sole purpose is to publish property listings (advertisements) for people who wish to sell their property online.
As per the Office Of Fair Trading guidelines, netmove is not an estate agent because we do not:
send out property particulars or arrange viewings
receive or field queries from potential sellers or buyers and pass on details to our clients
provide clients with a For Sale board and/or put it up outside their property where the board contains our contact details
Since we are not an estate agent, if you sell your property through netmove it will be classed as a private sale and as such you would not need to pay any commission to an estate agent unless you have given them sole selling rights.
Sole selling rights are not the same as a sole agency agreement in which you should retain the right to sell your property privately without having to pay any estate agent's commission unless agreed otherwise.
Listing your property with netmove is no different to placing a private ad in your local paper. Except we don't charge for listings :-)
